Happy World Photo Day 2016 ...

19th August 2016

Happy World Photo Day 2016! To help celebrate it, I'm chatting photography with Louise Hulland on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire at 12.30pm. Lots to talk about including how to decide which camera to buy, photography at the Rio Olympics plus tips on great pet photography ... thanks to my hound Rafferty the Lurcher for modelling during our daily morning walk!

World Photo Day is celebrated on August 19 every year because that was the day in 1839 that the French Academy of Sciences announced the photographic technique known as daguerreotype, one of the first of its kind in the world. It was developed by Frenchman Louis-Jaques-Mandé Daguerre, hence the name daguerreotype.
